In our last update, we were so thankful to let you all know that we have passed the 75% mark, which means we can officially say that aside from totally unforeseen circumstances, we are leaving for PNG.
However, if you remember, we also let you know that we're still continuing support raising.
We've had a number of people ask us, “If you can go at 75%, why do you need 100%?”
Or a similar question: “What's the difference for you guys at going with 75% versus 100%?"
The simplest way we can explain it uses three words: the long haul. We can get there on 75%, but can we stay there and see the job finished?
Our goal is to see a mature tribal church planted that has the Bible in their own language, its own tribal elders, and is reaching out and planting other churches. It's a long-term commitment! And we don't want the question "Can we afford it?" to guide or dictate the process of reaching that goal.
Since January, we've been busy meeting with individuals and presenting in churches, asking people to pray about whether God's calling them to be one of our supporters. In faith, we are planning to go in January, and we are trusting God to continue to put it on the hearts of people to become part of our monthly support team!

In our last update, we showed the picture below, and we've updated it and wanted to show it again, to give a visual representation of how our support need could be met, and to show what a support team looks like, how every giver matters, and the part they can play in reaching the end goal.

MUSIC AND MISSIONS
Speaking of support, we are excited to share with you about an up-coming event that has the potential to be a huge blessing to us as we prepare to leave for Papua New Guinea.
One of our supporters has arranged for Christian song-writers and singers Keith and Kristyn Getty to perform a concert in Detroit, Michigan on December 7, and a large part of the proceeds from that concert will go to us to help cover our one-time expenses of moving to PNG and building our house in the tribe.

1. Attend the Concert!

2. Purchase tickets for someone who loves great, worshipful Christian music.
This would be a wonderful Christmas gift, and would allow you to gift a music and worship-filled evening to someone, and also support missions at the same time.
3. Let others know about the concert
If you know an individual or church in the Northern Ohio or Southern Michigan area, would you be willing to take 5 minutes to send an email, facebook message, or call them and let them know about the concert and that it will be benefiting missions? If you'd be willing to help us spread the word, we'd be so grateful! 4. Pray with us for the concert
Right now, we still need to raise nearly $20,000 to cover our one-time expenses of moving to PNG and building our house in the tribe. If this concert were to sell out, it would almost completely cover the remaining one-time funds that we need to head to PNG. It would be a huge blessing if God chose to use this concert to provide that support! Thank you for praying with us about it.
