There are currently MILLIONS of people who have never heard the amazing truth of the Gospel and have NO ACCESS to it in their language! God has called us to do more than pray for these people. We get to go and help take the gospel to them!
For Josh, the call to full-time missions work focused on reaching unreached people groups was made clear by God when he was about 23 and already taking seminary classes. He began taking steps to prepare for that work, trusting God to open doors along the way.
Autumn had a burden for missions from the time she was a young child, and in her early twenties, her heart was broken when she found out that there were still unreached people groups who had never had access to the gospel before. God impressed on her heart a desire and passion to be part of helping reach them.
As singles, we both completed seminary training, and in August 2016, we individually headed to Ontario, Canada to study at the Ethnos missionary training program. While there, we became friends, and then eventually began dating. We got engaged during our senior semester and graduated from the program in December 2017.
We spent 2 1/2 years in Papua New Guinea from January 2020-March 2023. At that point, we still desired to serve in PNG, but it seemed God had closed several doors and we expected to back in the USA for several years.
While back, the Lord gave us our son Rowen in 2024.
The vision for the team is to bring the Gospel and the Word of God to a people who have not had access to them, plant a church among them, nurture the church to maturity, and see them go on to plant other churches.
Simply put, we will be PLANTING A CHURCH IN THE JUNGLE.
Our job is to:
1. Learn the Language
2. Create a written form of the language
3. Teach the people to read and write in their own language
4. Translate the Bible into their language
5. Teach through the Bible chronologically in their language
6. Train native literacy workers, pastors, and church leaders
7. Help them repeat the process of church planting so they can reach and teach their own people.
As you can probably tell, we believe that hearing God's message of redemption in the native tongue is essential to understanding. Can you imagine trying to learn another language just so you can read the Word of God? Our team will be learning another language so that someone else can read the Word of God.
From the time a team firsts enters the tribe until the time they leave is typically expected to take around 15 years. This is a huge undertaking and from our human perspective, it seems impossible! However, God’s eternal purpose will never be impossible because it is accomplished by His unlimited power!!
Isn’t it incredible that He wants to use you and us as a part of His purpose?!?

Now, we're excited to be returning to PNG to live and serve among the nDo people group in PNG.
