This will be a shorter update, since it's main purpose is to introduce our son! We were so excited to meet little Rowen on November 27, 2024! He was born at 3:51pm, weighing in at 9 lbs, 7 oz, and measuring 22.5 inches long.
As you might guess, we are certainly in love, probably even a bit giddy at times, and we're enjoying these early days of caring for and parenting this sweet little guy together.
Thank you so much for your prayers over the past months for both Rowen's and Autumn's health. We were blessed with a safe, very uneventful, and in Autumn's words "much easier than I ever expected" pregnancy. Rowen's birth was a little bit more eventful than we had hoped, but the Lord was kind, and we're grateful both he and Autumn are healthy.
We appreciate your prayers as we strive to continue to trust God with not only the lives that He has blessed us with, but now with our son's life, which has been entrusted to us. There is a weightiness to the responsibility to care for Rowen that I feel in a different way now as we work toward returning to PNG. Pray for faithfulness and trusting hearts as we entrust his wellbeing to the Lord, even as we prepare to move into a remote, third-world context.
Now that he has arrived, we are already working toward getting all his documentation in order so that we can be ready to return to PNG once the Lord brings together the rest of our needed monthly support. Rowen's first passport application is already completed, and we'll go tomorrow to get it reviewed and submitted.
We'll share more in a future update, but for now, please keep praying for our other preparations to return to PNG, including continued support raising efforts and lots of my time which is being dedicated to house building plans.
To close, below are some pictures of our cute little man and our family of three!
